Jumbo Jet 747 Flight Simulator
Flight Pro Sim is a flight simulator that offers over 100 aircraft to fly, 20,000 airports to take off from or land into, and real-world scenery covering the entire world. This software makes an excellent 747 flight simulator.
The Boeing 747, otherwise called the “Jumbo Jet” is the first widebody aircraft ever produced, way back in 1970. As is usual with aircraft, improvements and design changes were made on a regular basis. Since 1985, the 747 has had a glass cockpit (all instruments are electronic, rather than electromechanical).

There are two 747 flight simulators in Flight Pro Sim, the 747-100, and the 747-200, neither of which utilize the glass cockpit, which came into use with the 747-400. (The 747-700 is the original, 1970 version, the 747-200 was introduced in 1971, and had higher thrust and weight lifting capability.)
With more engine power comes varying sounds of these engines from Flight Pro Sim’s 747 flight simulators, and slightly different operating characteristics for each.
Several Boeing aircraft are available in the Flight Pro Sim simulator. There’s the Boeing 707, the 737, the 747s already mentioned, and the 777. All the Boeings are operated by yokes, as opposed to the Airbus aircraft which are operated with sidesticks. In addition, with the Airbus fly-by-wire system, the computers have final say over what happens in the cockpit, as opposed to the pilot. Boeing keeps the final decision in the hands of the pilots.
With Flight Pro Sim’s complete software package, pilots of the 747 flight simulator will enjoy the control they have over their experience. It’s possible to start one’s flight from any of over 20,000 airports around the world, or to start in the air at a given altitude, airspeed, and heading. Weather can be controlled, as can the time and the seasons, the weight of the aircraft, the fuel on board, and so on.
As well as having over 20,000 airports around the world, Flight Pro Sim offers realistic and accurate scenery from around the world, with vmap0 lakes, rivers, roads, railroads, cities, towns, and land cover. Vmap0 is a vector-based collection of data about the Earth in low resolution – but excellent for the purposes of flight simulation for a 747 flight simulator.)
In order to have the best experience with Flight Pro Sim, or indeed, any flight simulation software, it’s necessary to have the most powerful computer that you can have. The minimum requirements are: a computer with a processor with a speed of at least 2+ Ghz, with an operating system of Win 98/2000/ME/XP, and at the very least, 256 Mb RAM. A video card and OpenGL driver are also necessary.
The brand of graphics card in your computer also has a great deal to do with how well the sim performs. Again, experts suggest that the Nvidia 6000-9900 series is best. (Nvidia is a company based in California that specializes in the development of graphics processing units.)
It’s all about the hardware, as well as the software, to ensure a seamless 747 flight simulator experience.
